Types of Consultations

Prenatal Home Visit
- The consultant will provide you with information to make informed decisions about your feeding plan, teach you the basics of breastfeeding, assess your breasts, coach your partner on how to best help you with breastfeeding.

Breastfeeding Consultation
is when a lactation consultant assists you with breastfeeding. Mom is asked not to nurse or pump for at least two hours prior to the consult. The lactation consultant will take your history if you haven’t met with her before or completed the history form. She will listen to you and your partner, observe a feeding to identify and address concerns, help you prevent problems, and enhance your confidence.
*Phone Counseling is available to answer questions and follow up with plan. Breastfeeding consult needs to be scheduled to observe and evaluate feeding when indicated.
