Breastfeeding Friendly Workplace Requirements
Employers should provide a reasonable break time and a sanitary, private place for nonexempt nursing mothers to pump milk at work. The Business Case for Breastfeeding is a toolkit for employers with excellent resources and tools to help you comply with the new federal requirement, to help establish successful workplace lactation programs for all workers, including lower-wage and hourly employees.

We help employers offer the working mother breaks and a safe and comfortable place in her work environment to express milk. The employer provides a private space and we can provide everything else.

  • Time - Sufficient break time or flexible work hours, that will allow a mother to express an adequate amount of milk throughout the day.
  • Space - Moms will need a clean, private and comfortable space at work to pump. Closets and bathrooms do not qualify as suitable spaces for this purpose.
  • Support - Having Mother-Friendly/Breastfeeding-Friendly Policies in place can provide much needed support for working mothers while also educating other employees about the benefits of breastfeeding.
